Scholarship Information

At ACMI we offer a range of scholarships. Please read the following information to see which category best suits you and then you can complete the Scholarship Application form and attach the required information and any other evidence that is required. All applicants will be required to complete the application form, write a personal statement, and attach evidence in relation to the scholarship for which you are applying for.

Approval for scholarships is made by the Selection Committee which comprises of the CEO, Academic Director and Programme Leader for the qualification for which you intend to study.

Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is based on your previous academic study whether at School, University or other Education Provider you have studied with and achieved a qualification. To apply for this scholarship we require to see evidence of past academic excellence in any previous study and a full academic transcript from one or more education providers will be required.

Leadership Scholarship

For those students who have shown leadership in areas of their lives whether in business or community endeavours e.g. Sports teams, cultural groups or other community organisations. For this you will need evidence from either your place of work or comm unity organization that you may have been involved with. References may also be required to check validity.

Potential Scholarship

This is for students who may struggle financially or who have experienced hardship due to personal circumstances, which may not have always made it easy to study. A personal statement. It is also for students who have shown potential either at work or study but have not always been able to.

Life Skills Scholarship

This scholarship is for those who may have had time off from work and re-entering the workforce or have other skills and qualifications that they feel would be beneficial when studying their chose programme. You may have completed a degree or qualification in another area, but still feel you the skills in order to complete a qualification at this level.

Maori and Pacifica Scholarships

For students who recognize themselves as Maori or Pacifica may whish to apply for this scholarship. This is to assist with helping to cover tuition fees of the programme they are studying and where they feel by achieving their qualification, they are able to offer something back to their own communities.

Disability Scholarship

This is for those students who may have a disability of some sort and may need extra assistance with their learning. You will need to describe the nature of your disability, what support you feel you need and how this scholarship is going to help you to achieve success with your qualification.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All students must be NZ Citizens or Residents.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or have completed an enrollment form and meet the enrollment requirements for the Qualification they are studying.
  • All applicants will be required to complete a one-page personal statement on why they wish to undertake their course of study, the academic goals they hope to achieve and their future career path. Applicants should also state why they believe they deserve the scholarship.
