As part of the 2017 aged care and support pay equity settlement and the 2018 mental health and addiction support worker settlement, workers can qualify for pay equity via either job tenure or qualification. For qualification-based pay equity, support workers either need an actual New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2–4) or a qualification assessed as equivalent to it.
Our programmes – New Zealand Certificate in Health and Care Assistance (Level 3) (Aged Care), New Zealand Certificate in Health and Care Assistance (Level 3) (Practice Care) and New Zealand Certificate in Advanced Health and Care Assistance (Level 4) (Complex Care) are falling under the Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017.
